UIM World Final in Indonesia “Lake Toba” November 25 and 26, 2023

The UIM 2023 season has been extremely difficult for Monegasque Aquabike rider Lisa CAUSSIN-BATTAGLIA, who is taking part in the UIM Aquabike ClassPro World Championship in the SKI GP1 LADIES category (the highest level of motorboat competition).

The Monegasque rider, who travelled to Lake Toba in Indonesia with her partner, took part in this final event, where she failed to make up the ground she probably needed to hope for a place in the overall standings.

She knew before arriving in Indonesia that she wasn’t going to perform well in this event with the gear they had chosen (an original hull) because the Olbia event (Italy) didn’t go her way with her ‘original hull’ strategy and a lot of engine preparation. She came 11th out of 11 (Olbia Sardinia).

As soon as she arrived in Indonesia, an engine failure that could not be repaired on the spot forced her to retire during the first free practice sessions.

Despite this situation, the Le Rocher resident managed to take part in the races, thanks to the generosity of the Croatian driver who competes in the SKI GP1 category and enabled her to qualify for the race and the slalom (pole position). In Race 1, she finished P10 out of 10 in qualifying and then in the race, the slalom, but she did not qualify for the final phase, finishing P9 out of 9.

In the last two Races 2 and 3, Lisa Caussin-Battaglia didn’t take the start, her 11 points (Race 1) not allowing her to finish P10 out of 10 in the race and to finish P10 overall out of 12 participants in this UIM ClassPro World Championship which concludes the 2023 season.

Lisa Caussin-Battaglia has been taking part in the UiM Aquabike World Championship in the Ski Ladies GP1 ClassPro category for the last 8 years (results table):
